Prometheus is arguably the original Torchbearer. He stole the fire from Zeus and at a great expense, gave it to humanity. Every year the University of Tennessee's Center for Educational Leadership sponsors the selection and recognition of a few distinguished persons whose innovative work transcends their profession and improves the field of education. The leaders are named as recipients of the Prometheus Leadership Medal.

 

Beyond this honor, Hansjörg Göritz was invited to also design the logo and medal for this award.
