Urban living in a walkable city still is the exemption from the paradigm of freestanding objects in a never ending suburbia. Linked to lines of thought about the hortus conclusus in the nineties this claim in an urban commercial zone contains a garden to dwell rather than a house. A simple temenos enclosure from exposed concrete masonry units demarcates the claim of gravel, orchards and pools. Horizontal slabs balanced on steel posts shelter like umbrellas. Only later might one recognize the glass making a rich space flow through pavilions in this internalized garden.
